Constructed of magnetic iron, the obverse bearing a central raised NSKK style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by a date of 1938, above a raised inscription of BRANDENBURGISCHE GELNDEFAHRT (BRANDENBURG CROSS COUNTRY DRIVE), the reverse with a central raised mobile swastika, above laurel branches, circumscribed by an inscription of FR HERVORRAGENDE LEISTUNGEN (FOR EXCEPTIONAL MERIT),
