Baden, Grand Duchy. An Order of the Zähringer Lion, II Class Knight’s Cross with Swords, c. 1916 Archive Featuring a black and white(Orden vom Zhringer Lwen Ritterkreuz II. Klasse mit Schwertern). Instituted 26 December 1812 by Grand Duke Karl Friedrich. (1866 1918 issue). Constructed of silver with gilt multi coloured enamels, consisting of a narrow Cross Patte with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse with green enameled arms, bearing a central white enameled medallion overlaid by a detailed and hand painted depiction of Zhringen Castle, within a ribbed and
